Henley Royal Regatta 2019

Henley Royal Regatta (HRR) is undoubtedly the best-known regatta in the world. It is a highlight of both the summer sporting calendar and the social season. The Regatta attracts thousands of visitors over a five-day period. Spectators are thrilled by over 200 races of an international standard, which can include Olympic rowers as well as crews new to the event.

The length of the Course is 1 mile 550 yards, which is 112 metres longer than the standard international distance of 2,000 metres. This year saw CSRC enter it's third boat in the Wyfold Challenge cup in the last four years.

2019 entries to HRR hit a record high requiring the Sheffield men to attend a qualifying time trial. A good row at the qualifiers event unfortunately was not enough to secure a place in the Wyfold Challenge Club.

[Updated 08/07/2019] Former City of Sheffield member Robbie Schofield who left the club in September 2018 after accepting a job in the National Physics Laboratory was a Henley winner this year. In a very impressive Molesey 4+, his crew won out after defeating Sydney Rowing club in the final. Robbie can be seen in the bow seat of Molesey boat in the video below:
